Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Manuscript has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • One author of the manuscript should be designated as corresponding author with his email address and postal detail.
  • Research papers especially should have following sections: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Method, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, Acknowledgment, and References.
  • All references mentioned in the reference list in the APA styles must be cited in the manuscript carefully and properly. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • Manuscript must be submitted in the English language, British style used consistently. The manuscripts should be clearly written, concise and grammatically correct.
  • Manuscript must be an original work only with no plagiarism, and research manuscript should not be harmful to any other researcher, person or for the society.
  • Co-authors of manuscript should not be in any dispute about the proposed content with any person and among the authors.
  • After acceptance of manuscript, authors are required to submit copyright form with publication fee, if applicable.
  • Authors must keep all relevant data presented in the manuscript for any future claim or dispute with any other person.

Author Guidelines

JDC invites authors, scholars and researchers to submit well-written, original and unpublished papers on any current issue directly or indirectly related to development communication. All submissions to JDC must be made electronically via the Online submission and peer review system. The journal is supported by OJS. Registration are required to submit manuscripts online and to check status of current submissions. Manuscript Submission

Please download and refer the JDC manuscript template as a guide for article preparation. Manuscript:  Manuscript should contain Paper title, Full author names, Full institutional mailing addresses and Email addresses. Abstract:  Manuscript should contain one paragraph of abstract which should be self-contained and citation-free and should not exceed 200 words.  Introduction:  Introduction should be succinct, with no subheadings. Materials and methods in research papers:  Sufficient details should be provided so that all procedures can be repeated. It can be divided into subsections if several methods are described. Results and discussion:  Each may be divided by subheadings or may be combined. Conclusions: Clearly explain the main conclusions of the work highlighting its importance and relevance.  Acknowledgments:  All acknowledgments (if any) should be included at the very end of the paper before the references and may include supporting grants, presentations, and so forth. References:  Authors are responsible for ensuring that the information in each reference is complete and accurate. Use APA Styles for References. Tables and figures:  Tables should be cited consecutively in the text. Every table must have a descriptive title and if numerical measurements are given, the units should be included in the column heading. Tables and figures are placed in text close to where they are mentioned. Units of measurement:  Units of measurement should be presented simply and concisely using System International (SI) units.

Book Review Guidelines

Your book review should not exceed 1,000 words (including the references).  It should be engaging, informative and critical and must be useful to JDC audience. Please lead your review with the following listing: Author(s) or editor(s) first and last name(s), Year of publication, Title of book, Place of publication, Publisher name, ISBN Number, Price (please indicate paperback or hard cover). Under this listing, please include your information: Your first and last name and your Institution affiliation.

Please also include the Image of the book cover.

Peer Review

JDC operates a double-blind review process. Research manuscripts will initially be assessed by editor. Manuscripts deemed suitable are sent to a minimum of two independent expert reviewers to assess the scientific quality. Reviewers do not make the final decision to reject or accept the manuscript but they recommend a decision. Editors consider the feedback provided by reviewers in manuscript and take a decision. Editors of JDC are responsible and fully authorised to give rejection, modification or acceptance of the manuscript to the author based on the quality of manuscript. Editor's decision is final.

Open Access authors retain the copyrights of their papers, and all open access articles are distributed under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution License, which permits unrestricted use, distribution and reproduction in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited.

Important Dates

Paper Submission is any time. JDC uses a rolling submission process, allowing authors to submit at any time during the year without time restraints. JDC is published twice yearly, in June and December.
